Foot Mounted Motors

Foot Mounted Motors are standardized electric motors (typically AC induction) that feature a robust base, or "feet," integral to the housing for secure, stable mounting onto a flat surface, such as a base plate or machine frame. They are designated as mounting type IM B3. These motors are widely available in both single-phase and three-phase configurations, with power ratings ranging from fractional horsepower to over 22 kW. Standard technical specifications often include 2, 4, 6 or 8 poles for various speeds, IP55 enclosure protection against dust and water jets, and insulation classes like Class F. Their sturdy construction, often cast iron or aluminum, ensures durability and reliable, continuous duty (S1) operation in applications like pumps, fans, conveyors, and various industrial machinery.
