Plastic Friction Washer

The Plastic Friction Washer is a crucial component in a recycling line, designed to vigorously clean highly contaminated plastic flakes, films, or granules by combining intense mechanical friction and continuous water flow to remove stubborn impurities. Inside an inclined stainless-steel trough, a high-speed rotor or paddle screw rotates, rapidly agitating the plastic material against itself and a mesh screen, which effectively scrubs off surface contaminants like dirt, grit, grease, and labels. The contaminated water and fines are expelled through the screen and a drain, while the cleaner material is simultaneously conveyed upward to the next stage, significantly enhancing the purity of the recycled plastic with a high throughput capacity and minimal use of harsh chemicals.
