Screw Barrel For Food Extruder

The Screw Barrel for a Charcoal Briquette Extruder is a specialized, heavy-duty component, often constructed from high-hardness, wear-resistant alloy steel, designed to withstand the abrasive nature of pulverized charcoal, biomass, or coal dust; its function is to continuously feed, compress, and extrude the powdered raw material. The screw features a progressively reducing pitch to generate extremely high pressure within the heated barrel (up to 350 C) which activates the binding properties of the material (like lignin in biomass) or added binders, compacting it into dense, high-calorific value briquettes, typically with a hollow core for optimal burning, before they are cut to length at the die exit.
